How to Use

• Add a file and select the document and pages to redact.
• Press 'Add Area' to create a black rectangle. Adjust its position and size so no text is left. Move to the next page and check all necessary parts.
• Check the 'Pages without redacted marks' list. No marks does not mean it is automatically determined to be safe.
• Read about the output resolution and what changes upon output, check the confirmation items, and press 'Create Redacted File'.
• Check 'View Results' and re-open the downloaded file to verify all pages. Share the resulting file, not the original.

Good to Know

This tool does not automatically find personal information. The user must manually select the areas to redact. Information may remain in the file name or unredacted pages.

What should I double-check before sharing the redacted file?

This tool does not automatically find personal information for you. Manually check if the same contact details or names are repeated on other pages, tables, or headers. A page without redaction marks is not guaranteed to be safe.

Once the result is generated, all pages of the PDF are re-saved as images. Search, text selection, existing signatures, form fields, and links will not be maintained, so ensure this method fits your submission purpose first. When sharing, choose the new result file, not the original, and ensure the file name does not contain sensitive information.

Examples and Selection Help

Document review precaution: Redacting personal information (e.g., contact details) on a specific page does not automatically remove the same information from signature blocks or other sections. Check the entire document and manually designate all areas to be redacted.
