WORKLAZY TOOLS

Image Compare

Inspect color, opacity and recognized-text differences, and review alignment suggestions.

Use this tool directly in your browser without installing software or signing in.

How to compare

Resolution and changed regions

Large images may use a smaller comparison resolution. Check the working dimensions and scale: small changes can be missed, and original files remain unchanged. If a processing limit is reached, resize or crop the images before selecting them again.

Keep up to three region scans. A bounding rectangle’s area differs from its changed-pixel count. Radius and area settings use original units; the applied working values are shown separately.

Review recognized text

Recognized text can differ from the actual document. Check it against the image even when scores are high. Raw recognition, corrected text and review notes remain separate; corrections affect comparison only when you opt in.

Recognition uses a white background and the current alignment, up to 400,000 working pixels. If retained region scans prevent recognition, remove unnecessary scan results and try again.

Review alignment before applying

Automatic alignment is a suggestion. Repeated patterns or sparse content can produce an unintended match. Inspect the preview before applying or rejecting it. Do not directly compare counts calculated at different working resolutions.

Undo settings and compare transparency

Undo and redo changes to comparison settings and alignment. Restoring a step compares the original files again and clears previous recognition results and edited transcripts. Choosing a new file preserves comparison settings and starts a new history. Reset settings restores the defaults.

Alpha threshold is inactive on white or black backgrounds. Its saved value applies again with a transparent background.

Frequently asked questions

Are images uploaded to a server?

No. Comparison and text recognition run in your browser without uploading original images.

Do zero changed pixels mean identical original files?

No. Counts use the chosen sensitivity, opacity and working resolution. Also check image sizes, added or removed coverage and any resolution reduction.

Can recognition errors appear as changes?

Yes. Compare recognized words with the source crops and, if needed, use corrected text. Recognition scores do not guarantee correctness.
