What to Prepare
Example scenario: The left file lists 10 P-01 / 20 P-02 items, while the right lists 25 P-02 / 10 P-01. By matching based on the product code, you can accurately determine that P-01 remains unchanged and P-02's quantity has changed, even if the row order is completely different.
How to Use
- Add two files to compare as a pair. To compare multiple pairs, add more file pairs.
- Check the sheet to use and the row with column names in each file. If there is a title or description above, change it to the actual row containing column names.
- Select a comparison method suitable for your purpose.
- Run the comparison and check for changes, additions, deletions, and duplicates in the result filters.
- Save necessary reports. For items that could not be linked automatically, review the original files.
Easy to Understand Example
For an employee list where the order of names has changed, it is better to compare based on unique employee IDs rather than names. A 'Key' refers to this kind of reference column used to find the same target.
Can I compare files using Employee ID even if the row order is different?
Compare similar tables before and after revisions by matching rows and columns. For lists with different orders, use a reference item like an employee ID or product code that can identify the same target. To verify transactions with matching amounts, dates, and clients, use the transaction matching feature.
Changes in the results indicate that the values of connected items are different. Duplicate or ambiguously connected items are not definitively incorrect data; they simply mean it's difficult to uniquely identify the same target. For such items, check the original and secondary criteria together.

Frequently asked questions
Which Excel formats can I compare?
You can compare XLSX, XLSM, XLS, XLSB, SpreadsheetML XLS and CSV files. XLS and XLSB support values and formulas, but formatting differences are excluded.
What if the selected header suggestion is not the actual column-name row?
Choose the actual column-name row in each file's header-row field. Comparison starts after that row. A table without headers needs a column-name row added at the top.
Are comparison files uploaded to a server?
No. Reading, comparison and report generation happen in the current browser, and file contents are not sent to a server.
Can I compare multiple file pairs at once?
Yes. Each pair can use its own sheets and matching rules. Every successful pair gets a nine-sheet XLSX report, and two or more successful pairs also get a ZIP.
How are multiple rows with the same key shown?
Each duplicate key counts as one result row with independent lists of its left and right source rows. Items on the same line are not matched automatically.
