Use Cases

How to Use

Results and Precautions

Read the original text alongside the change indicators to verify if it represents an actual meaning change. Indicators might appear due to internal structure or formatting differences. Automated handling may be difficult if similar types of content repeat.

Can I compare a Word document with an HWP file?

When revising reports or notices multiple times, it is easy to miss what has changed. Document Compare highlights the differences in text, tables, and formatting between two versions to help you locate areas for review. Connect Word documents with Word documents, and Hangul documents with Hangul documents.

Select Web Comparison to read the changed parts immediately, or Excel Report to organize a review list. If both files are DOCX, you can also generate a Track Changes result to view in Word. Because change indicators do not judge the business significance of the document, please read them alongside the original text.

Examples and Selection Help

When one document changes a submission date and a department-table cell, review both the body-text differences and the table differences on the result screen. Check every reported change against the original documents before using the comparison result.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compare DOC with DOCX?

Yes. Both belong to the Word family, so either order is supported.

Can I compare DOCX with HWP?

No. The pair is rejected before analysis. Pair Word files together and HWP files together.

Does tracked Word output work for DOC?

No. It is limited to pairs where both files are DOCX.

Can the exact same text be marked as a change?

Formatting or internal document structure might have changed. Read the marked section along with the original and check if it's a comparison that includes formatting changes.

Do I have to read every single difference?

First, look at the list of additions, deletions, and modifications, and prioritize important details like dates, amounts, and subjects. Also check if you have selected table comparison and other document areas.
